NOHP Puducherry - Oral health and tobacco awareness session program done for Staffs of Public health wing Government general hospital mahe

A Capacity Building Program was organized for the staff of the Public Health Wing, Government General Hospital, Mahe, on 27th January 2026, focusing on Oral Health, Tobacco Control, and Nutritional Health. The session was conducted by Dr. Satish, CDS (SAG) in alignment with the World Oral Health Day theme, “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Life.” The program aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of frontline health workers in promoting oral health and preventive care at the community level.
The training served as a refresher on key topics, including oral hygiene practices, early detection of dental problems, tobacco and drug abuse awareness, and the nutritional aspects affecting oral health. Participants were guided on effective communication strategies to educate the public during field visits and health programs. A total of 35 staff members attended the session, comprising 17 ASHAs, 13 ANMs, 2 Health Assistants, 2 LVHs, and 1 TI. The program enhanced staff capacity to deliver better oral health education and preventive services to the community.
