NOHP Puducherry -Oral health awareness and screening program at Government primary school Nattapakkam

PHC Nettapakkam @ Government Primary School Nettapakkam: The students were given awareness on 1. Importance of oral health to overall health 2. Do's and Don'ts in oral care 3. Brushing techniques demonstrated using dental models and posters. 4. Harmful effects of Tobacco and its vulnerability among adolescents were emphasised. 5. Oral screening was done for IV and V std students. 6. The students with dental issues were referred to PHC Nettapakkam for dental treatments. 7. TTP: The teachers were also sensitised on common dental problems and management & Tobacco free environment and lifestyle. 8. Role of TCC services and NRT gums availability at the health facility were highlighted.
Beneficiaries: 215 students (boys -93/ girls - 122) and 7 teachers.
Oral screening: 98 students screened
Health staff: 1 Dental Surgeon & 1 Dental Assistant.
