TERMS OF USE AND PRIVACY POLICY

1. Purpose and Campaign Overview

This platform is published by FDI World Dental Federation, an organization based in Switzerland ("the Organization"), as part of the World Oral Health Day campaign. The platform allows participants ("the User") to create a personalized visual by uploading or taking a photo, adding their first name or nickname, selecting a message and a predefined icon, in order to contribute to an interactive public mosaic.

2. Image Rights Assignment and Intellectual Property

  • Grant and Assignment: By publishing their photo and first name on the website, the User grants the Organization, free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, the right to use, reproduce, display, and adapt their image, first name, and the generated visual for communication activities related to World Oral Health Day.
  • Scope and Duration: This authorization is valid worldwide for the data retention period specified below (2 years). It covers all our digital and print communication channels (websites, social media, reports, presentations).
  • Warranty: The User warrants that they are of legal age or have obtained the consent of a legal representative, that they own all rights to the submitted photo, and that the photo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

3. Social Media Sharing and Limitation of Liability

  • Public Nature: The mosaic and created visuals are publicly accessible. The User is free to download and share their creation on social media platforms.
  • Limitation of Liability: The Organization disclaims all liability regarding the reuse, downloading, resharing, or modification of the visuals by third parties outside of the platform or its official channels. The Organization cannot be held responsible for third-party actions taken on social media.

4. Personal Data Protection (Privacy Policy)

  • Data Collected: We only collect data voluntarily provided by the User: first name, photo, selected message, and icon.
  • Purpose: This data is processed exclusively for the creation of the mosaic, the operation of the platform, and the promotion of the World Oral Health Day campaign.
  • Retention Period: Personal data and generated visuals are stored for a maximum period of two (2) years from the date of submission, after which they will be permanently deleted or anonymized.
  • Legal Basis and Compliance: Data processing is conducted in compliance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Participant Rights (Withdrawal and Deletion)

The User retains the right to withdraw their consent at any time and request the removal of their photo and data from our platform. To exercise this right, please contact us at webmaster@fdiworlddental.org .Deletion from our platform will be processed within a reasonable timeframe upon receipt of the request.

6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. In the event of any dispute, the exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be Vernier, Geneva, Switzerland.
